 And The king lord  was assembled to his dad, and Cyrus of Persia got his palace. And Daniel talked with the ruler, and was regarded over every one of his companions. Now the Babylonians had a symbol, called Bel, and there were spent upon him consistently twelve awesome measures of fine flour, and forty sheep, and six vessels of wine. And the lord venerated it and went every day to revere it: yet Daniel adored his own particular God. Furthermore, the lord said unto him, Why dost not thou venerate Bel?  Who addressed and stated, Because I may not venerate symbols made with hands, but rather the living God, who hath made the paradise and the earth, and hath sway over all tissue.  Then said the lord unto him, Thinkest thou not that Bel is a living God? seest thou not the amount he eateth and drinketh consistently? Then Daniel grinned, and stated, O lord, be not swindled: for this is but rather dirt inside, and metal without, and did never eat or drink anything. So the ruler was wroth, and required his clerics, and said unto them, If ye let me know not this' identity that devoureth these expences, ye should bite the dust.  Now the ministers of Bel were threescore and ten, close to their spouses and kids. What's more, the ruler ran with Daniel into the sanctuary of Bel. So Bel's ministers stated, Lo, we go out: however thou, O lord, set on the meat, and make prepared the wine, and close the entryway quick and seal it with thine possess seal;  And to morrow when thou comest in, if thou findest not that Bel hath gobbled up all, we will endure demise: or else Daniel, that speaketh erroneously against us.  And they little respected it: for under the table they had made a privy passage, whereby they entered in consistently, and expended those things. So when they were gone forward, the ruler set meats previously Bel. Presently Daniel had told his workers to bring powder, and those they strewed all through all the sanctuary within the sight of the ruler alone: at that point went they out, and close the entryway, and fixed it with the lord's seal, thus withdrew. Now in the night came the ministers with their spouses and youngsters, as they were wont to do, and did gobble and drink up all.  early in the day betime the lord emerged, and Daniel with him.  And the lord stated, Daniel, are the seals entirety? What's more, he stated, Yea, O ruler, they be entirety. And when he had opened the sullen, the ruler viewed the table, and cried with a boisterous voice, Great workmanship thou, O Bel, and with thee is no trickery by any stretch of the imagination.  Then snickered Daniel, and held the lord that he ought not go in, and stated, Behold now the asphalt, and check well whose strides are these. And the ruler stated, I see the strides of men, ladies, and kids. And after that the ruler was irate, And took the ministers with their spouses and kids, who shewed him the privy entryways, where they came in, and devoured such things as were upon the table. Therefore the lord slew them, and conveyed Bel into Daniel's energy, who wrecked him and his sanctuary. And in that same place there was an awesome winged serpent, which they of Babylon loved. And the lord said unto Daniel, Wilt thou likewise say this is of metal? lo, he liveth, he eateth and drinketh; thou canst not state that he is no living god: subsequently revere him. Then said Daniel unto the ruler, I will venerate the Lord my God: for he is the living God. But give me leave, O lord, and I might kill this monster without sword or staff. The lord stated, I give thee clear out. Then Daniel took pitch, and fat, and hair, and seethed them together, and made knots thereof: this he put in the winged serpent's mouth, thus the mythical serpent burst in sunder : and Daniel stated, Lo, these are the divine beings ye adore. When they of Babylon heard that, they took incredible outrage, and plotted against the lord, saying, The ruler is turned into a Jew, and he hath wrecked Bel, he hath killed the mythical serpent, and put the ministers to death.  So they went to the lord, and stated, Deliver us Daniel, or else we will obliterate thee and thine house. Now when the lord saw that they squeezed him sore, being obliged, he conveyed Daniel unto them: Who cast him into the lions' lair: where he was six days.  And in the lair there were seven lions, and they had given them consistently two carcases, and two sheep: which at that point were not given to them, to the expectation they may eat up Daniel.  Now there was in Jewry a prophet, called Habacau, who had made pottage, and had fellowshipped in a bowl, and was going into the field, for to convey it to the gatherers.  But the blessed messenger of the Lord said unto Habbacuc, Go, convey the supper that thou hast into Babylon unto Daniel, who is in the lions' nook. And Habbacuc stated, Lord, I never observed Babylon; neither do I know where the sanctum is. Then the heavenly attendant of the Lord took him by the crown, and uncovered him by the hair of his head, and through the eagerness of his soul set him in Babylon over the nook. And Habacuc cried, saying, O Daniel, Daniel, take the supper which God hath sent thee. And Daniel stated Thou hast recalled that me, O God: neither hast thou neglected them that look for thee and cherish thee.  So Daniel emerged and did eat: and the heavenly attendant of the Lord set Habbacuc in his own place again instantly.  Upon the seventh day the ruler went to bewail Daniel: and when he went to the sanctum, he looked in, and view, Daniel was sitting.  Then cried the ruler with a noisy voice, saying, Great craftsmanship Lord God of Daniel, and there is none other close to thee.  And he coaxed him out, and cast those that were the reason for his demolition into the nook: and they were eaten up in a minute prior to his face.
